In FY 2016 & FY 2017, the state froze our funding based on FY 2015's budget. The impact on this freeze cost the district $3,067,847
Starting in FY 2018 the state changed the funding process and paid school districts based on the previous year's student count. Obviously in a growing district that means we were being shorted each year and we were not paid retroactively for the previous year's shortfall. After a lot of work by local staff and support from local legislators, in FY 2025, this issue was resolved and we now get paid for the current year students.
The shortfall over those 7 years totaled $6,679,139. For additional details click here to view the detailed spreadsheet.
Prior to FY 2019, the state recognized that opening new schools is inefficient. Therefor they provided additional funding for two years to help offset the extra expenses associated with opening new schools. This chart shows the revenue lost since the state removed the new facility funding.
Total lost revenue = $3,381,175
